Purchase of a Non-Refundable Damage Waiver is Required:
A Damage Waiver is required for a nominal fee and covers the first $1,000 in damages to the rented vessel, caused by the renter. The Damage Waiver covers 100% of isolated propeller damage. The Damage Waiver covers property damage to renter’s contracted boat only, caused by accidental collision. The Damage Waiver Releases renter from responsibility from damages caused by another individual hitting their rented boat due to an accident in which the renter is found not responsible, but the other party is, in this case an FWC accident report is required.
What is not covered by the Damage Wavier:
- Boating under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Damage caused by ignoring engine warning alarms or overheating the engine. If the engine overheats it will go into safe mode, and will reduce RPMs for a short about of time (often with a red light or audible alarm). If you experience reduced RPMs and/or engine alarm sounds while underway, with caution, move the boat to a safe location, out of the way of other boat traffic, anchor and turn off the engine. Contact marina immediately.
- Damage caused by “rafting” boats together.
- Damage from a hot grill or other heat source
- Damage you may cause to the property of others.
- Failure to observe and comply with navigational markers, Florida boating laws or instruction from Rose Marina Staff.
- Damage caused by renter’s willful negligence.
- Does not cover any other type of liability, only property damage to rented vessel during designated rental period.
- Does not cover damage caused by using a rental boat to tow any kind of vessel, object or person.
RENTER understands the Damage Waiver does not affect the liability of RENTERS resulting from personal injuries or death of RENTER, OWNER, or any third party, or property damage to property not owned by the OWNER. The Damage Waiver is not a Renter’s Insurance Policy underwritten by an insurance carrier, it is an agreement between the Renter and Marco River Marina Inc. d/b/a Rose Marina.
